TOP CENTRE pipes are one way “BREATHER” pipes, as well as “CAPACITY REGULATORS”, or “overflow pipes”.

  • TOP CENTRE PIPE(fitted to all bladders from 20,000L or less) For these sizes we fit 1 x 32mm one-way top pipe.
  • TOP CENTRE PIPE (fitted to all bladders from 35,000L to 100,000L)For these sizes we fit 1 x 50mm one-way top pipe.
  • TOP CENTRE PIPES (fitted to all bladders from 150,000L to 350,000L)

For these sizes we fit 2 x 50mm one-way top pipes.

  • TOP CENTRE PIPE (fitted to all bladders 500,000L in size)

For this size we fit 1 x 110mm one-way top pipe.

NOTE: PIPES MUST REMAIN OPEN AT ALL TIMES for the following reasons:

  • AS A BREATHER PIPE: this pipe allows air to escape as the bladder is filled.
  • AS A CAPACITY REGULATOR (or overflow): this pipe allows the bladder to overflow when the working stress of the material is reached. At this point, the water will start overflowing from this pipe, meaning that the bladder has reached its maximum capacity. Do not allow the water bladder to fill beyond this point, which may result from coupling something to or modifying this connector.

It is recommended that a bottom tank connection is used to fill and extract liquids from – as opposed to a side flange connector- to vertical and lateral movement experienced using a side connector, therefore reducing wear and tear on the connection point.

When placing your order, please specify the diameter size of your feeder pipe to fill the bladder with. We typically supply standard sizes with a fitted 80mm bottom flange plus an 80mm side flange, both bolted on using stainless steel bolts. These are supplied with caps to close off the flange not in use.

The ground must be free of small stones, preferably levelled with a 30mm blinding layer of clean sand. Ground surface must be LEVEL with less than 70mm variance from one end to the other.

Once the FEEDER PIPE is connected to the bottom of the bladder’s 90-degree bend and bottom flange, the ground around the pipe AND around the bend/connector MUST be hand compacted, after levelling off.

For a standard 80mm breather/overflow top pipe, MAXIMUM FLOW RATE INTO THE BLADDER SHOULD NOT EXCEED 20kl/h
